Here goes on our fifteen minutes of fame...
Firstly, and most recently, I was mentioned in Malcolm Gluck's Superplonk (www.superplonk.com) weekly newsletter! Here's what my buddy Malcolm had to say: Dan has got in touch to tell us about a wonderful Rioja deal he's uncovered at Tesco.com. Its Vina Mara Rioja Reserva 1996 which usually goes for £7.99 and rated 16 points at that price when I last tried it back in July. It's part of Tesco's so-called Finest range and it is a superior example of the breed for it has highly civilised tannins balancing rich, deep fruit of class and precision. Eagle-eyed superplonker Dan managed to get a case for the knock-down rate of £45.49 (which works out at just £3.79 a piece). With this amazing discount it'd be churlish not to give it at least an extra point, perhaps 1.5. But I'd hurry up if you too want to take advantage as such an offer is unlikely to run for very long.
Secondly, I have appeared on CNN, BBC1, BBC2, BBC4, and ITV, and on several other channels worldwide as well! Ahem - beat that suckers!
Thirdly, I coached the Horsham youth basketball team to victory in the Sussex Olympic Games in 1998 or 1999 (can't remember too well). For that achievement, I won a picture with the team in the West Sussex County Times - oooooooh, how priviledged I am!!!
